Global Accreditation: JCI, GHA, and ISO 22525

Trust in 2026 is built on a rigorous, three-layered accreditation framework. The Joint Commission International (JCI) remains the benchmark for clinical safety and hospital hygiene.

However, the Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) has become equally important because it specifically evaluates the "International Patient Experience."

GHA standards ensure that a hospital is prepared for the unique risks of medical travel, such as managing patients who have just undergone long-haul flights. Additionally, the ISO 22525:2020 standard provides a management system for both hospitals and "facilitators" (travel agencies). It mandates transparency in pricing, clear communication of patient rights, and robust post-treatment follow-up protocols. In 2026, a facility lacking these certifications is often excluded from international insurance networks.
